Here are a few things I’m loving lately…
Yerba Maté Latte
A friend brought me a can of this delicious herbal tea and I’ve been drinking it all week long. It claims that “coffee gulpers rejoice when this sip this rich, chocolaty infusion with its colorful and flavorful herbs.” I have to say, that’s pretty spot on! I am a coffee drinker, but sometimes grinding my own beans and getting out my french press just feels like too much work in the morning when I’m super tired. This chocolaty tea has been hitting the spot, especially with a bit of steamed milk added in!
The Miracle Morning
I agreed to read this with an entrepreneurial friend of mine. Let’s be real – I basically hate mornings and I can’t remember the time when I didn’t. I have always struggled to wake up ready to greet my days with joy, head on. I’d rather hit the snooze button at least five tips and eventually pull myself out of bed at the last possible second. But the message that we do our best work in the morning keeps following me around, so I am trying to implement practices to re-wire my brain from “mornings are the worst” to “mornings are the best!” I’m finding that waking up with an expectant attitude and practicing positive disciplines is improving my outlook on the rest of the day. I am still struggling to beat my night-owl tendencies (there’s science out there that says I’m wired this way!) but I do see improvement.
A Very Relevant Christmas, Vol. 4
I am a huge fan of Holiday music thanks to my Mom playing it non-stop from Halloween on while I was growing up, so I am always excited for the latest releases. I love modern takes on the classic carols and hearing new originals. RELEVANT Magazine released their fourth Christmas collection, which you can stream for FREE here, or download if you subscribe (it’s worth it)!
We have a small one bedroom apartment and have used every available floor space, so a regular Christmas tree has been out of the question for the past couple years. Luckily my mother-in-law wants us to still have some Christmas cheer and is happy to help us bring some apartment-sized Christmas decor into our home. This year I have my eye on a tabletop tree. How cute is this?
The Best Yes
I am not even halfway through this book, and so far, I am loving it. The book is all about examining your time and capabilities. I started learning how to do that last year but I am still struggling to get a grasp on saying no to good things in order to make room for the best things. The second chapter alone brought me to tears (great sign)! I haven’t ever read one of Lysa Terkeurst’s books before, but I am so glad my lovely sister sent it my way.
